Wedding Open Evening 12th June 2019

We are now making our final preparations for the Wedding Open Evening on Wednesday 12th June 2019; under a week away!

If you have not visited one of the Layer Marney Tower Wedding Open Days or Evenings previously, then you may be a little unsure of what to expect.  Primarily, these events are designed for us to showcase the venue and give you a little insight into how the Long Gallery could look on your wedding day, all dressed ready for the wedding breakfast and reception to take place.

Although the Long Gallery can comfortably seat up to 140 guests, we will set up furniture to give an indication of how it will look for approximately 50 guests, using a long top table against the oak panelling and opposite the magnificent fireplace, with round tables for the guests.

Bouquet Garni, our caterers, will lay up the tables and then each table will have a different style of floral centrepiece provided by our recommended florist W Flowers.  The fireplace and staircase will also be dressed by W Flowers with flowers or maybe foliage, fairy lights and lanterns to give you ideas of how to make an impact with your wedding decor.

Wedding couples may choose to wander round on their own and chat to the various wedding suppliers, or you may like to have an informal tour of the venue with one of our wedding team.  Karen, the Wedding Coordinator, along with colleagues Jackie, Sarah and Nicholas will be more than happy to show you round Layer Marney Tower, answering any of your questions, checking availability of dates and providing you with further information about a possible wedding here.

If you have already booked your wedding day at Layer Marney Tower, we will also be available to discuss the finer details of your wedding day, offering advice and suggestions, or just having a chat about how your plans are progressing!

The stunning Corsellis Room can be viewed as a possibility for your ceremony or maybe you are considering a wedding in the parish church of Layer Marney, situated within the grounds of Layer Marney Tower?  Representatives from St Mary’s will be able to advise how to proceed with a wedding ceremony in this beautiful church.

Bouquet Garni will be serving drinks from their Citroen H Van situated in the courtyard and will also be wandering between visitors in the Long Gallery offering canapés.  Why not chat to a member of the Bouquet Garni team about your own catering requirements and thoughts about the menu that you are considering on your wedding day?

We have also selected a number of trusted wedding suppliers to exhibit, who will be more than happy to discuss their particular service.

Your wedding photography is a vital consideration; you will want to feel completely comfortable and relaxed with your photographer on the day and trust that the final images reflect your memories of your wedding.  David Islip Photography has had many years of experience and most importantly, is very familiar with the garden, grounds and buildings at Layer Marney Tower, enabling him to get the best possible photos for you.

Brides will be wowed by the selection of beautiful bridal wear from Amara Bridal and we mustn’t forget the groom or groomsmen, so we have invited Anthony Formalwear to display a small selection of their range.

The team from Aimez-Vous offer hair and beauty treatments to help any bride feel fabulous on her wedding day and they will be offering free trials on the night to attendees, as well as a free one hour Elemis facial with every secured booking.

Lucy’s Sparkles and Pearls design and create bespoke, individual jewellery, hair accessories and brooch bouquets – those all important final touches!

We are always pleased to see Tess’s Cakes here and not just because Carl will bring samples of the ever popular and favourite cake flavours!  Whether you want traditional, quirky or flamboyant, he will be able to interpret your ideas for that perfect wedding cake.

Another supplier joining us for the first time is Jayne from Sparkling Occasions Face Art.  Jayne comes to us highly recommended and will be demonstrating her talent for sparkly, fun creations – a possible way to entertain the children at your wedding? Or maybe you are considering a festival theme?

Live music will be provided by the talented Kiele from the band 24 Karat.  They have a huge repertoire to ensure your evening reception has that perfect mix of music for all your guests.

What better way to complete your celebrations than with a firework display during the evening reception?  Dynamic Fireworks will create a memorable firework display for your guests to enjoy.

As always, we will have the Layer Marney Tower 1930’s Maythorn Rolls Royce and our Routemaster Bus available to view.  There is also the chance to have a tour of the Featherdown Farm glamping site, just a short 10 minute walk away.

There is no need to book or register your attendance in advance, just come along on the evening of Wednesday 12th June 2019 between the hours of 5.30pm and 9pm.  It is a really fun, informal evening and the perfect chance to see what Layer Marney Tower can offer as a wedding venue.
