Booking a registrar for your wedding ceremony

Once you have decided that Layer Marney Tower is the perfect venue for your wedding day and you have provisionally booked your ceremony date with us, the next step is to book a registrar to conduct your wedding ceremony. This will ensure the wedding is legally binding.

We recommend you should do this as early as possible to ensure their availability on your chosen date.

Planning your wedding ceremony should be a joyful and exciting experience, which is why we are so pleased that the new online booking system for the Essex County Council Registration Service is now live! The launch of this service will make it easier to plan your ceremony and manage in one secure, online space.

To get started, simply visit: https://www.essex.gov.uk/births-ceremonies-and-deaths/get-married-or-form-civil-partnership

Once you have booked your ceremony online, the new online portal now makes it possible to:

Manage all of your ceremony details – access and update important information when it suits you.

Submit your ceremony choices – personalise your ceremony by selecting readings, music, vows and more.

Make payments securely – pay your ceremony fees quickly and easily online.

Find answers to frequently asked questions – get quick and easy guidance on everything from the legal requirements to ceremony day tips.

This will offer wedding couples more control and make it far more convenient, so that you can focus on the other elements of your wedding to create the most unforgettable day!

If you have any questions about any of the beautiful ceremony spaces we have to offer, then please get in touch with us and we will happily help.
