Getting Ready

You may have butterflies in your tummy, but it’s still worth having a good breakfast – with or without champagne. Think about when you would like your photographer to arrive and do your utmost not to be late – priests, registrars and celebrants often have other things to do after they have looked after you.

Arriving in style

Graham, or one of our other uniformed chauffeurs, will meet you in a stylish Rolls Royce and take you to where you are to be married – perhaps to Layer Marney Tower or to your local church. Who you travel with is up to you – our 1931 Rolls Royce has “dicky” seats, enabling you to share the journey with several others.

Wedding ceremony

Your wedding ceremony

This is the most important part of the day. Whatever type of wedding ceremony you choose, it is worth making it personal to the two of you. Music, poetry and prose may all be included. You may have particular members of your family, or specific friends that you would like to be involved.

CEREMONY ROOMS

Capturing those special moments

Layer Marney Tower is a wonderful place, full of special corners and views that give you and your photographer plenty of opportunity to make lasting memories. If your photographer has not worked at Layer Marney before, then please bring them over or ask them to get in touch with us so we can show them around the church venues, garden venues and more on your behalf.

Whether you opt for a traditional three course “wedding breakfast” or choose something less formal, you can be sure that the caterers Bouquet Garni will work closely with you, delivering first class food with excellent service. The Long Gallery, the Corsellis Room and Tuke’s Chamber are all marvellous spaces that you can stamp your mark on with flowers, lighting and other decoration.

BANQUET HALL

Dance the evening away

The sprung oak floor of the Long Gallery is perfect for dancing, whether to a live band or a disco. This is a great moment to express yourself by choosing some of the music you want played, or by opting for something like a ceilidh. Recently we have seen more couples celebrate with fireworks – talk to Dynamic Fireworks who will give you lots of ideas.

A night to remember

At the end of the evening you might say goodbye to many of your guests as they depart on the Layer Marney Routemaster bus. Across the courtyard from the Long Gallery is the Bridal Suite which is yours for the night. You may like to have some fizz ready for you in the fridge, so you can toast each other at the end of your day, before curling up to sweet dreams.
