The room is on the first floor in the main building and is 500 years old. Seating up to 120 guests, this beautiful room requires very little additional décor thanks to its character filled features. Exposed brickwork, ancient oak beams, and elegant Mulberry wall hangings create a warm, timeless backdrop.
A few personal decorations, such as a floral arrangement on the ceremony table, enhance the effortless beauty.
The space benefits from a high-quality sound system, ideal for playing pre-recorded music for the entrance, exit and during the signing of the schedule for your wedding ceremony.
Karen was amazing all the way through out planning process. Allowed us to book visits as much as needed, even went as far as agreeing to have our engagement shoot at the beautiful Layer Marney before our amazing ceremony there. Layer Marney Tower was the perfect venue for our fusion of both British and Swedish wedding traditions. Tuke’s Chamber is the elegant ante-room adjoining the Corsellis Room. Often used as a welcoming area for guests to gather and mingle before taking their seats, it is wonderfully versatile and can also be transformed into an intimate ceremony space for up to 40 guests.
Both the Corsellis Room and Tuke’s Chamber are on the first floor and can be easily accessed by either the stairs or a lift.

Layer Marney Tower’s Corsellis Room and Tuke’s Chamber are located within the main residential wing of the historic Tudor estate, occupying upper-floor positions that overlook the central courtyard. These rooms feature period architectural details typical of 16th-century design. From their elevated positions, both rooms offer views over the formal gardens and the surrounding Essex countryside, blending the intimacy of the interior spaces with the grandeur of the estate’s wider setting. Their location within the heart of the Tower makes them key features of the estate’s historic living quarters.
