Why Our Venue Is Perfect for A Dog Friendly Wedding

For many of our wedding couples, their dog isn’t just a pet, they’re a member of the family. That’s why at Layer Marney Tower we are proud to be a dog-friendly wedding venue, where your four-legged friend is welcome to be part of one of the most special days of your life.

Over the years, we’ve welcomed countless wagging tails and happy paws to wedding ceremonies and the drinks reception. From walking down the aisle to posing for family portraits, your dog can be right by your side.

Typically, dogs join the wedding celebrations for the ceremony and drinks reception, soaking up the love and attention. After that, they are usually collected before the wedding breakfast begins, giving couples the best of both worlds: unforgettable moments with their pup, followed by a relaxed meal and party with guests.

To make this all possible, many of our couples choose to work with a professional dog chaperone, a trusted supplier who will ensure you dog is cared for throughout the day. We’re lucky to regularly welcome Becky from Woofs and Weddings, who is simply wonderful with our canine guests. We’ve also had the pleasure of working with Pawsh Pets Weddings, who looked after two four-legged VIP’s here last year. These dedicated chaperones take care of everything, from arrival and photo opportunities to walks, water bowls and the ride home.

We understand how meaningful it is to include your dog in your wedding, and we’re always delighted to help make it happen. Whether they’re trotting down the aisle, stealing a few canapes during the drinks reception or just bringing a bit of fun and chaos to the photos. Just be warned that they could just steal the limelight!

And while dogs are the most obvious animal guests we welcome, we wouldn’t want to discriminate against other pets either…we’ve even arranged for a bride’s horse to visit the garden for photos!
