We are excited to be able to offer two wedding events during October 2023, which are an excellent source of inspiration if you are planning your wedding day.
This Sunday 8th October from 11am to 3pm we are hosting a Wedding Show alongside County Wedding Events, who deliver professional and successful shows across the country.
A fantastic selection of suppliers will be exhibiting, many of whom are well known to us at Layer Marney Tower. Whether you are looking for a florist, photographer, live music or make up artist there will be lots of ideas and advice available.
Make sure you check out both the Long Gallery and Barn on the day, as each of our reception rooms will be filled with exhibitor stands.
County Wedding Events will give you a goody bag on arrival with a copy of “An Essex Wedding Magazine”. There is also the chance to enter a competition for a honeymoon…could you be that lucky couple?
The Layer Marney Tower Tea Room will be open and serving hot and cold drinks, savoury snacks and cakes throughout the event. A chance to sit down, grab a coffee and absorb some of the information!

Following the Wedding Show, we are holding one of our popular Wedding Open Days on Sunday 22nd October from 11am to 3pm.
Typically these events are quieter than a wedding show and are more focussed on showcasing Layer Marney Tower and how it can potentially look on your wedding day.
We still have a number of trusted wedding suppliers that are exhibiting, including our caterers Bouquet Garni but both the Long Gallery and the Barn (our two main reception areas) will both be dressed in a mock set up of a wedding. W Flowers will be dressing the Barn and Luna Rose Florist will decorate the Long Gallery.
At both events, the wedding team from Layer Marney Tower (including myself!) will be on hand to give informal tours of the venue, answer any questions and check our diary for availability of dates.
Also, on either day you will have the chance to take a look at the Corsellis Room, which is often used for a ceremony with the registrars or a celebrant. Or maybe you are considering a church wedding? In which case, a short walk across the gardens will take you to the beautiful parish church of Layer Marney, where church vergers will be happy to chat to you about getting married in the church.
There is no need to register in advance for our Wedding Open Day but there is a dedicated page on our website where you can express your interest and leave your contact details.
Whether you are using one of these events to look around the venue for the first time, or you have already booked and are now selecting your preferred suppliers for the day, these days are an invaluable source of information and inspiration.
