Our Rolls Royce Wedding Cars

When you book your wedding reception at Layer Marney Tower, we are able to offer you the use of either one of our chauffeur driven classic Rolls Royce wedding cars.
What could be better than arriving at your wedding venue in a stylish, luxury car?
The older of our two wedding cars is the 1931 Maythorn. This will comfortably seat two adults in the main rear seat and an additional two adults or children using the occasional seats, that have their back to the chauffeurs compartment. If required, another passenger may sit next to the chauffeur, giving a total capacity of five people.
The Maythorn has a top speed of about 35mph, so we strongly recommend that your journey time is limited to approximately 30 minutes from Layer Marney Tower, or a 20 mile radius.
If however you are being collected from a distance greater than 20 miles, we recommend using our slightly more modern vehicle, the 1960’s Silver Cloud, which is just as stylish but more practical for a longer journey. The Silver Cloud Rolls Royce will seat three people on the main rear seat and one next to the chauffeur.
In advance of the wedding day, the chauffeur will be in touch to arrange a suitable collection time, to allow for the journey either directly here or maybe to a local church for your ceremony. If you are getting married at another location, the Rolls Royce will then be waiting to bring the newly-wed couple onto Layer Marney Tower for the reception.
The chauffeur will take into account not only the journey time, but will allow additional time for your official photographer to take some photos as you are departing and also a few minutes for some photos on arrival at Layer Marney Tower or your local church.
If you are holding both your wedding ceremony and reception at Layer Marney Tower, we give you the opportunity for a short drive immediately after you have got married and before your drinks reception. This gives you a few special minutes alone together, just to pause and absorb the magic of the day. After the ceremony, our couples are met by the chauffeur with a glass of fizz to enjoy on the journey, and whisked away while the guests gather on the lawn. On arrival back at Layer Marney Tower, after a few photo opportunities with the tower in the distance, you can walk through the garden towards the tower. And then the drinks reception really gets underway!
Occasionally, couples will tell us that they have always wanted to arrive in a horse and carriage, or another vehicle that is important to them. In that case, why not use the Rolls Royce to transport your bridesmaids – or even Granny and Grandad! The car is available for you to make use of on the day how you wish.
If you wish to make use of the second Rolls Royce, then please do not hesitate to enquire about the hire fee for the additional car.
