Supplier Spotlight – Simply Rustic

When it comes to creating a wedding that is unique and personal as the couple, finding the right suppliers is essential. At Layer Marney Tower we are lucky to work with some incredibly talented professionals who help us bring our couples’ vision to life. One supplier that has truly become one of our favourites is Simply Rustic, owned by the hard working and ever-smiling Teresa.
Since our Barn was lovingly restored into a reception space, we’ve had the pleasure of seeing Teresa more frequently. Her rustic collection of décor items has quickly become a staple here at the venue, and it’s easy to see why! Her items blend perfectly with the charm and warmth of our Barn, adding that special touch of rustic elegance that our couples love.
Once I’d made the decision to write a blog post featuring Simply Rustic, I felt I had the perfect excuse to visit Teresa’s showroom…an “Aladdin’s Cave” of wedding treasures. Not only a good chance to have a chat but an opportunity to view the amazing variety of items she has on offer – there really is something for everyone.
To provide a little background, Simply Rustic has been trading for 10 years in August and has developed over time, with the decision to make it a full time business coming just before Covid.
The business is essentially a one-man band, with Teresa only very occasionally needing help from either her son or daughter. Initially, the showroom was at her home but Teresa then took on a unit at a business park in Tollesbury, a small village less than 20 minutes away from us.
The showroom is available to view by appointment only, typically between October to the end of March. The Summer months are simply too busy with weddings! However, when possible, we invite Simply Rustic to exhibit at one of our wedding events to show off a small selection of the items she has available to hire.
We are pleased to confirm that Simply Rustic will be one of a number of trusted wedding suppliers exhibiting at our Wedding Open Evening on Wednesday 25th June from 6pm to 9pm.
Amongst the items available to hire are the ever popular giant LOVE or MR and MRS letters. These giant letters often become a focal point on the dance floor when they are a backdrop for the couple’s first dance, providing a stunning visual element.
Other desired items are the various signage, from a personalised “Welcome” to a “Wedding this way” or maybe the pretty stepladder doubling up as a table plan, personalised with faux flowers in your chosen colour scheme. Or how about a gorgeous sweet cart, adorned with glass jars of all your favourite pick ‘n’ mix sweets?
Why not take a look at the Instagram page @simplyrustic3 for further inspiration? Teresa is constantly refreshing the items and what we love is how adaptable her pieces are, as they can be personalised to fit your colour scheme.
If you are looking to hire some of these items, a small deposit of £50 will secure the date with a final balance due 6 weeks before the wedding date. A damage deposit of £100 is typically returned within a few days of the wedding. Although some couples inevitably leave this to the last minute, we know some bookings are made over two years in advance of the wedding day.
We can’t recommend Simply Rustic enough and are so grateful for our working relationship with Teresa, and we are sure you’ll love working with her too.
