Taking place from 11am to 2pm on Sunday 9th November, this special event offers you the ideal opportunity to explore Layer Marney Tower, our beautiful wedding venue near Colchester, in Essex. Our stunning reception rooms will be beautifully dressed for a wedding, helping you to picture your own perfect wedding day in this historic setting.

You’ll have the chance to wander through the picturesque gardens, as well as view both the Corsellis Room and the parish church of Layer Marney situated within our grounds, two popular options for a wedding ceremony. Whether you are dreaming of a charming rustic Barn wedding or an elegant historic Tudor house celebration, this Wedding Open Day will help you visualise your perfect day.

Meet Our Wedding Experts & Trusted Suppliers

Throughout the day, our experienced wedding team will be offering guided tours of the venue and will be available to answer any questions you may have about planning your day. This is your chance to find out everything you need to know about the venue…so ask away!

You’ll also have the chance to meet Bouquet Garni, our fantastic sole caterers, and chat about menu ideas to suit your celebration. As an added bonus, Bouquet Garni will be bringing their quirky Citroen H Van which is often used for serving street food or has even been used as a drinks station. Installed on the H Van is a pizza oven, and we are delighted that some tasty samples of pizza will be offered to couples on the Open Day!

We are lucky enough to have a number of trusted suppliers exhibiting at this event, many of whom have worked with us on a number of occasions and know Layer Marney Tower inside out. We love giving couples the freedom to choose the suppliers that feel right for them, (with the exception of our trusted sole caterer and fireworks supplier Dynamic Fireworks), so your day truly reflects your style. That said, there are lots of benefits to working with our recommendations. They know our venue inside and out, so they can anticipate any challenges, coordinate effortlessly with our staff, and make the most of every space. With their experience, your wedding day flows smoothly, looks stunning, and lets you relax and fully enjoy every magical moment.

From florists and photographers, to musicians and cake designers, our suppliers are full of helpful ideas and inspiration. We always try to vary the selection of exhibitors from one event to the next, giving returning couples plenty of variety and new options to consider.

You will receive a warm welcome from the team and a glass of fizz on arrival. Take your time to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, enjoy the live music, ask questions and imagine how your own wedding day could unfold here at Layer Marney Tower.

You’ll also have the chance to chat with me, Karen, the Wedding Manager, or one of our experienced team members. We are here to help with every aspect of your wedding planning journey, from your first visit to your final dance.

Event Details & How To Attend

There is no need to book or pre-register your attendance, simply come along any time between 11am and 2pm. We recommend allowing at least an hour to explore, but if you’d like to chat to all the suppliers and take a guided tour, plan to stay a little longer.

You’re very welcome to bring family members or close friends along to support and help with decisions, or purely enjoy the day together. There is plenty of free parking on site, making it easy to visit and take your time exploring everything we have to offer.
